A veritable jewel in the south of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, the Gorges du Verdon are Europe’s largest canyon and one of Provence’s major tourist attractions.

This listed site attracts thousands of visitors every year to admire its sheer cliffs and emerald river.

From our campsite near the Gorges du Verdon, you can easily reach viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramas, or go hiking on mythical trails such as the Blanc-Martel or Imbut paths.

Carved out by the Verdon River over thousands of years, the gorges stretch for almost 50 kilometers. The cliffs can reach heights of up to 700 metres, offering a spectacle unique in France and Europe.
The Gorges du Verdon is also a succession of five reservoirs set along its green waters, highlighting this natural curiosity carved out of the limestone and forming emblematic lakes: Sainte-Croix, Quinson, Castillon and Esparron. These unspoilt areas are also ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities, from rock climbing to via ferrata, canyoning and paragliding.

Not to be missed: the Quinson Prehistory Museum, one of the largest in Europe, and typical villages such as Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, famous for its earthenware and Provencal charm.
